I recently discovered that my old cell phone, which I'd been using as a track camera, wasn't actually recording at 60fps like it claimed but generating footage at more like 25fps. As I troubleshoot, I'm wondering generically what the cheapest option is for high framerate (60fps+) capturing at good resolution (1080p+ preferred) and decent quality. Quality doesn't need to be incredible--this isn't meant to be the main cam--but the footage needs to be able to be played at half-speed and should look decent at 720p after some cropping.
The ability to wirelessly transfer footage and remotely trigger recording (voice or wireless remote) would be plusses.
I'd thought that my three-year-old last cell phone would be the perfect choice (as it's free), but I guess not.
So with that in mind, should I look into:
- GoPro knockoffs?
- Used GoPros?
- Used cell phones (with better specs)?
- Point 'n click cameras?
- Something else entirely?
