I usually build 1/25 scale plastic car and pickup truck model kits, but occasionally would customize a 1/64 scale diecast to do something a little different. I eventually decided to build a 1/64 scale custom shop diorama, so I've been collecting and customizing cars, trucks, figures, and shop equipment to use in the diorama.
This is a pair of Matchbox '47 1/2 Chevy pickups. I put new wheels on both of them, weathered and rusted one to be a project vehicle, and turned the other into a shop truck with a custom paint job and decals.
This is an M2 Machines '56 Ford tow truck. I like the Moon Equipment paint job, so I left that as is, but the original tow rig looked toy-like, so I scratch built my own.
Matchbox 1951 Willys pickup truck. I put on off-road wheels, did a custom paint job, and dirtied it up a bit.
M2 Machines '56 Ford F-100. I did a faded and rusted paint job, and chromed the engine to make this one look like an old farm truck being rebuilt as a street machine.
M2 Machines 4-column hydraulic lift, custom painted and dirtied.
Panzón and the crew at Panzón Customs. These are diecast figures from Greenlight and some resin figures from Race Medal that I've repainted and tried to give a bit of character to.
In addition to what I've shown here, I also have several Johnny Lightning true 1/64 scale cars and some shop equipment that I will use "out of the box". I'd like to find some more 1/64 figures, but the only ones I've been able to find so far must be ordered from China. I plan to scratch build some more shop equipment, and of course, the shop building. Still got a long way to go!
